The Really Good April Fools Idea

Quick confession: I love a good April Fools joke. Not something that involves hurting anyone or really even causing any level of…inconvenience in anyone’s life. I just really enjoy the little gags that you see and have to take a moment to realize it’s April 1. The University of Oregon’s College Football Program pulled off a great gag this morning. I’m frequently reminded of this fact by hearing the trash truck coming up the street before the…sun rises, and having to dash out of my house with our trashcan in tow to make sure our mountains of trash are picked up. It makes me nuts. I’m not sure how often this scenario plays itself out, but I’d bet it’s more than 50% of the time. I often miss trash pick-up entirely. I’ve tried calendar reminders, “todo list” apps, and even notes on my pillow to no avail. I’m a parent of small children. Lost sleep and missed trash pick-up are very real problems.

The foundation for such technology - the Blockchain - isn’t even represented on their 2015 Hype Curve, and so one assumes that as of August, 2015, that foundation must have been mired in disillusionment as well. However, here in early 2016, we’re starting to see signs that folks are really starting to “get” the Blockchain.
