It’s The User Experience, Stupid
It’s The User Experience, Stupid
No matter how “magical” the tech, it’s your users’ experience that matters.

The Really Good April Fools Idea
Quick confession: I love a good April Fools joke. Not something that involves hurting anyone or really even causing any level of…
inconvenience in anyone’s life. I just really enjoy the little gags that you see and have to take a moment to realize it’s April 1. The University of Oregon’s College Football Program pulled off a great gag this morning. It’s great because it’s self-aware and it’s in perfect keeping with the Ducks’ brand of high-flying, cutting edge use of technology in the service of the program. And it’s great because it’s actually just a really good idea.

I Want Better Friday Mornings. I Need A Smarter Trashcan.
In my town, Fridays are Trash Pick-up days. I’m frequently reminded of this fact by hearing the trash truck coming up the street before the…
sun rises, and having to dash out of my house with our trashcan in tow to make sure our mountains of trash are picked up. It makes me nuts. I’m not sure how often this scenario plays itself out, but I’d bet it’s more than 50% of the time. I often miss trash pick-up entirely. I’ve tried calendar reminders, “todo list” apps, and even notes on my pillow to no avail. I’m a parent of small children. Lost sleep and missed trash pick-up are very real problems.

Why the Blockchain is Getting Boring
And that’s really exciting
In 2015, Gartner declared that “Cryptocurrencies” and “Cryptocurrency Exchange” were either headed into or well within the Trough of Disillusionment. The foundation for such technology - the Blockchain - isn’t even represented on their 2015 Hype Curve, and so one assumes that as of August, 2015, that foundation must have been mired in disillusionment as well. However, here in early 2016, we’re starting to see signs that folks are really starting to “get” the Blockchain.
